SACRAMENTO – Shirley Ann Vanover, 81, of Sacramento, died Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 12:46AM at her residence. Ms. Vanover was born December 10, 1942 in Muhlenberg County. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Bremen. She enjoyed gardening, racing, shopping, dancing, and cooking, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family. She truly loved her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by her son, Tony Mauzy; parents, Hershel and Rethel Higgs; and siblings, Chester Higgs, Freeman Higgs, Leroy Higgs, Bobby Higgs, Dorthy Higgs Johnson, and Wanda Sue West.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda (Mark) Koon; grandchildren, Chad Sallee, Kyle (Jessieca) Stroud, Hunter (Alex) Mauzy, Presley Mauzy, and Fisher Mauzy; great-grandchildren, Adam Mauzy, Jasmine Mauzy, Braisyn Sallee, Bree Stroud, and Eli Stroud; and great-great-children, Liam Mauzy, and Waylon Mauzy.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11AM at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento with Rev. Kyle Stroud officiating. Burial in Gish Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
