Paul J. Reeves

Paul J. Reeves 87, Paul J. Reeves of Calhoun passed away peacefully on January 1, 2024, at the Riverside Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun. Born on August 24, 1936, in Livia, Kentucky, to the late Ira James and Lydia Evelyn Troutman Reeves, Paul lived a life marked by hard work, faith, and generosity. He previously attended the Whosoever Will Mission in Calhoun.

A lifelong farmer, Paul dedicated his life to tilling the soil and reaping the harvests of the land he so dearly loved. Paul’s commitment to his work was paralleled only by his devotion to his faith. He found profound joy in sharing the word of God, often distributing small Bibles to strangers and crowds in parking lots and parks throughout Owensboro. His favorite verse, Matthew 6:33, encapsulated the guiding principle of his life: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a son, Danny Reeves on May 1, 2021, and two brothers, J.C. Reeves and Curtis Reeves.

Survivors include a son, John P. Reeves of Indianapolis; a daughter, Paula Hurt of Evansville; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Reeves of WA; four grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Lillian Beck of St. Louis.
