Martin Earl Howard, 75 passed away at his home on December 31, 2023. He was born on November 11, 1948 in Daviess County to the late Joseph Orval and Mary Golda Smith Howard. Marty proudly served his country in the US Army in Vietnam. He retired after 40 years at NSA/Century Aluminum.
In addition to his parents Marty is preceded in death by his brothers, Leo and Leonard and sisters, Grace Dyer, Eleanor Wathen and Rita Szemethy.
Marty is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gwendolyn and their children, Valerie (Jason) Hoover, Jason Howard, Laura (Mike) Perry, Gabriel (Heather) Howard, Joseph (Tiffany) Howard and Joshua (Ashley) Howard; grandchildren, Kyle (Kailee) Bartley, Cameron Bartley, Ethan Hoover, Eli Hoover, Ashley Howard, Tristen Perry, Mason Perry, Celeste Perry, Lilly Faith, Garrett Faith, Greyson Howard, Annabelle Howard, Sawyer Howard, Wyatt Howard, Lily Howard, Myla Howard and Noah Howard; siblings, Ed and Ann Marie Howard and numerous caring nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, with burial following at St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with prayers at 6:30 p.m. at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, KY.
