Rodney ‘Bucky’ Brenning Bowlds, 79, of Utica, KY passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born on September 2, 1944 in Daviess County to the late Leo and Anna Howard Bowlds. Rodney retired from Titan Fabricators as an Iron Worker. He was also a farmer and enjoyed raising cattle and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Anna Elise Bowlds; brother, Cecil Bowlds; sister-in-law, Judy Bowlds; and a brother-in-law, Melvin Vanover.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Gloria Bowlds; son, Kevin Bowlds (Twyla) of Columbia, TN; daughter, Stefanie Lysyj (Alex) of Akron, OH; granddaughter, KaraLynn Bevis (Kris) of Florence, AL; five siblings, Virgil Bowlds (Connie) of Owensboro, KY, Shirley Vanover of Owensboro, Carolyn Dickens (Ronnie) of Beech Grove, KY, James Bowlds of Redhill, KY, and Billy Bowlds (Carolyn) of Redhill, KY; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in the chapel at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Nickel Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, January 1, 2024 at the funeral home and from 1:00pm until the time of service on Tuesday.
