Portia Faye Alexander, 80, of Lewisport, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Norton’s Brownsboro Hospital. She was born in Hawesville, KY on March 27, 1943 to the late Wilbur and Mary Ruth Best Newman. Portia was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church, Lewisport and a very caring and loving lady. She loved her family dearly. Portia will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We now know that she is looking in the eyes of her Lord and Savior and is whole again in Heaven.
Portia is survived by her husband of 56 years, Eli Alexander; children, Billy Joe Alexander and Gary (Dorothy) Alexander; grandchildren, Mark Alexander and Gregory (Natasha) Alexander; sisters, Brenda Allen and Sandy (Ernie) Johnson along with several nieces, nephews and her life long best friend, Kathy Druen.
Services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at First Baptist Church, Lewisport with burial following in Lewisport Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Lewisport Chapel on Thursday from 11 am until 1:45 pm. Memorial Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Lewisport.
