Kenny Reeder

March 23, 1961 - December 15, 2023

Kenny Reeder  62, of Utica, Kentucky passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  Kenneth Wesley Reeder was born March 23, 1961 in Paducah, Kentucky to Michael Erben and Dorothy Ann Hayden Reeder and was better known as ‘Kenny’ to both his family and friends.  Kenny’s warmth and kindness touched many lives throughout his 62 years.

Kenny proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy Veteran, a period of his life that instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried into his civilian life.  Following his military service, he dedicated over 25 years as a production technician with Sun Windows of Owensboro, where his work ethic and team spirit were highly valued by his colleagues.

His interests and hobbies were a reflection of his vibrant spirit.  An avid fan of the University of Kentucky basketball and NASCAR, Kenny found excitement and camaraderie in the thrill of sports.  His love for the outdoors was evident to anyone who passed by his meticulously cared-for yard.  He always loved taking a chance on his luck, whether it was his trips to the casino or his frequent purchasing of scratch-off lottery tickets.  Kenny’s passion for travel took him to many places, but his heart was always at home, where he earlier assisted as a t-ball coach or simply enjoying time with his family and friends.  His dog, Olly, was a source of immense joy and companionship, and the special bond they shared was apparent to all.

Described by those who knew him as kind, generous, and thoughtful, Kenny lived his life as an embodiment of these virtues.  He approached each day with a gentle demeanor and a readiness to help others, leaving a legacy of love and service that will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

As we say farewell to Kenneth Wesley Reeder, we celebrate the life of a man who was much more than the sum of his years. His spirit, love, and laughter will not be forgotten, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. Kenny’s life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, filled with love, joy, and the simple pleasures that make a life truly rich.  Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Mike Reeder.

Kenny is survived by his partner of more than 30 years, Keith Smith; his mother, Dorothy Reeder of Vero Beach, Florida; two brothers, Steve Reeder (Tammy) of Eustis, Florida and his twin, Keith Reeder (Kimberly) of Groveland, California; a sister, Sharon Reeder Wallace of Owensboro; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
