Johnny D. Goodman, Jr., 83, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. He was born on September 1, 1940 to the late Johnny Goodman Sr. and Katie Feldpausch Goodman. Johnny was a barber for over 60 years and owner of Goodman’s Barber Shop since 1966. He was a proud graduate of Hartford High School.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William Earl “Bill” Goodman and Roger Goodman.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Janice Shelton Goodman; son, John Goodman, III (Tonia); step-children, Debbie Gaddis (Cary) and John Ford (Suzanne); five grandchildren, Nicholas Goodman(Laralynn), Jared Goodman, Cara Merritt, Alexandra Ford, and Michael Gaddis; four great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Walker, Gabrielle, and Presley; brother, David Goodman (Mary); a sister, Sandy Goodman; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday December 20, 2023 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory with entombment to follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00pm until 6:00pm and on Wednesday from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the funeral home.
