William Dean Hedges, 59 of Utica, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023 in Booneville, IN. He was born on February 20, 1964 in Owensboro. He was retired from the US Army after 27 years. He served in the Gulf War and Operation Enduring Freedom. He was a member of the Boonville American Legion. Dean had an awesome smile and was a great friend to all, he never met a stranger, always willing to give to anyone in need, and he was like a brother to most of his friends. He is preceded in death by his real dad, Bobby Moore.
Survivors include his mom, Kathleen Moore; his wife of 4 1/2 months, Star Schweikart; four children, Damian Hedges, Dylan Beals, Sharmayne Dillion (Zach), Schaneal Fisher (Jeff); First wife, Laurie Beals; sister, Lori Stevens; 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory with Military Honors to follow. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Private family burial will be in Greenbriar Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
