Daniel C. Gillians, III, 78, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023 at his home. He was born August 11, 1945 in Daviess County to the late Daniel C. Gillians, II and Dorothy Geraldine Maglinger Gillians. Danny retired from Owensboro Health Regional Hospital and worked for the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department in the Judicial Center. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Owensboro Christian Church. Danny enjoyed watching UK, KWC, and OHS football and basketball and loved people.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Leonard Grenier; sister-in-law, Carla Spencer; and brother-in-law, Danny L. Williams.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Euline Montgomery Gillians; son, Tim Gillians (Lisa); granddaughter, Kimberly Schultz (Adam); grandson, Jeff Gillians; three great-grandchildren, Evelyn Marie Wynne, Kadyn Alexander Wynne, and Axyl Ray Schultz; brother, John Gillians (Sherry); sister-in-law, Jan Powell (William); brother-in-law, Les Williams (Susan);and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation is from noon until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
