Elaine Thompson, 73, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born May 13, 1950 in Owensboro to the late Elzie and Lucille Williams. Elaine spent 17 years as a bus driver for the Daviess County Public Schools and then as a direct support professional through Strategic Partnerships with River Valley Behavioral Health. She was a member of Wesleyan Christian Center. She loved a cold Diet Pepsi and hot hazelnut coffee. She enjoyed reading, sewing, playing Bingo, and watching TV, especially her favorite soap operas. But most of all, Elaine loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and her extended family “up home” in Logan County. Elaine was a natural caregiver. She was a great navigator before there was such a thing as GPS and always was confident in helping you find the best route to go places and be safe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Williams and David Williams.
Survivors include her children, Sherri Boehman (Kenny), Chris Thompson (Lindsay), April Midkiff (Darren), and Cody Crabtree (Lexie); grandchildren, Haylee Eubanks (Dalton), Landon Thompson, Maggie Crabtree, and Tripp Crabtree; great-granddaughter, Karter Eubanks; sister, Darlene Snyder; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, November 17, 2023 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
