Francis “Frankie” Marion Clark, 91, of Owensboro passed away on November 12, 2023. He was born December 17, 1931, in Owensboro to the late Thomas H. and Lucy E. (Merimee) Clark. Frankie was a Medic in the Army and retired from Green River Steel where he worked as a straddle buggy operator. He was the former president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Owensboro and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Frankie enjoyed golfing, playing cards, especially poker with his brothers, and watching UK sports. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and loved cooking any chance that he got. Frankie spent many years coaching the St. Pius basketball and little league teams and volunteering as a ranger for the Pearl Club.
Along with his parents, Frankie was preceded in death by his siblings, Maxine (Marvin) Evans, Robert Thomas “R.T.” (Ethel Belle) Clark, Melvin (Ruby) Clark, Joe “Merimee” (Virgie) Clark, James “Monk” (Mary) Clark, Donald (Opal) Clark, Hugh “Hugh Boy” (Deloris) Clark, and Jerry (Carolyn) Clark.
Frankie is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Stolz Clark; children, Lori (Scott) Hamilton, Ronda Howard, Donna (David) Burr, and Steve (Ellen) Clark; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara (Bobby) Clark.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory and again on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
