Anna Lee Tierney Barr, 98, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away on October 31, 2023, in the comfort of her home. She was born April 19, 1925, in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Peter and Virginia Mae Thompson Tierney. Anna worked for G.E. before she devoted her life to being a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a charter member of Immaculate Parrish and a devout Catholic.
Along with her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Bernard Barr; great-granddaughter, Emily Foreman; siblings, James “Jinx” Tierney, Catherine Conkright, Gertrude Trodglen, Margaret Wahler, Ruth Conkright, Virginia “Dumpie” Hawkins, and Betty Jo Thompson; and son-in-law, Clint Montgomery.
Anna is survived by her children, Marsha (Link) Bell, Sheila (Kenny) Cecil, Mark (Mary Beth) Barr, Pat (Lori) Barr, Mary Jane Montgomery, and Robert (Kandy) Barr; grandchildren, Chris (Summer) Bell, Scott (Emarie) Bell, Whitney (John) Foreman, Brad (Lauren) Cecil, Emily Cecil, Alex (Roxanne) Barr, Adam (Jessica) Barr, Andrew (Samantha) Barr, Austin Barr, Stephanie Chuter, Cheyenne Barr, Skye Barr, Keith Bracelin, Robert (Jessica) Bracelin, Tierney (Byron) Phillips, Leigh Anne (Luke) Castlen, Kimberly (Kevin Boothe) Montgomery, Stephen Barr, Kaley (Derek) Bean, and Lexie (Travis) Owsley; 29 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Immaculate Parrish with Father John Vaughan officiating. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with prayers being said at 5:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory and again on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
