
GREENVILLE, KY., Betty Jo Sapp, 88, of Greenville passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Muhlenberg County on July 19, 1935 the daughter of Charlie Saddler and Ida Bell McGehee Saddler. She was a charter member of Leigh’s Chapel General Baptist Church. She loved to sew, cook, and read her Bible daily. She enjoyed her role as homemaker and loved to play Rummy and Dominos with her special friend Ann Winn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters Carolyn Dennis and Cynthia Norton, she is the last of 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years Gene “Papaw” Sapp of Greenville, a son Tim (Cindy) Sapp of Greenville, a daughter Joyce (Stephen) Hodges of Ringgold, GA., 9 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and special friends Jerry and Ann Winn.
Visitation will be held at Leigh’s Chapel General Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 9:00 AM until time of funeral.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Leigh’s Chapel General Baptist Church in Greenville with Bro. Roger Wright officiating assisted by Bro. Tony Shanks. Burial will follow in Jackson Cemetery in Greenville. Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
