
Dolores Ferrell 92, of Owensboro, Kentucky, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023 at the Heartford House in Owensboro. Dolores Dame was born November 13, 1930 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late William Clark “Potter” and Emuel Hayes Dame and was married to Gene W. Ferrell. Dolores was a woman of resilience, strength, and unwavering love for her family and community.
Dolores was a hardworking woman who spent a significant part of her life contributing to General Electric in Owensboro before her retirement. Her work ethic was admirable, and she was respected by her colleagues for her dedication. She was a woman of substance who believed in the importance of hard work and instilled those values in her family.
Apart from her work, Dolores was a woman of many interests and was actively involved in her community. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, contributing her time and energy to the organization’s various initiatives. She was also recognized as a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, a testament to her service and dedication to her community.
Dolores was a long-time volunteer at the Opportunity Center in Owensboro, where she selflessly offered her time and skills to help others. Her kindness and generosity were evident in her actions, and she made a significant impact on the lives of those she helped. She was a beacon of hope and a source of inspiration for many.
In her leisure time, Dolores enjoyed playing bingo and making trips to the casino. She was a woman full of life and energy, and she knew how to make the most of every moment. Her zest for life was contagious, and she brought joy and laughter to those around her. Her memory will always be associated with her love for adventure and her ability to find joy in the simplest of things. In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Gene W. Ferrell, who died August 11, 2014.
Dolores leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication through her son, Rickey Hudson of Panther; her grandson, Brad Hudson (Rebecca) of Owensboro, and her three great-grandchildren, Zach Hudson, JãLynn Hudson and Amanda Mason. She was a pillar of strength and a source of wisdom for her family. Her love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life, and her memory will forever be a beacon of love and devotion for them.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Wayne Austin officiating. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Dolores’ family from 11:30 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. Thursday at Musters in Calhoun.
