Reverend Terry Lavon Tutt, 76, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born July 21, 1947, in Owensboro, to the late Joseph Alexander Tutt and Nana Pearl Brown Tutt. Terry had been a pastor at Owensboro Faith Fellowship, currently known as UP Church, Tenth Street Missionary Baptist Church, and Sweeney Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed all of his church work and all of his church family, and he very much enjoyed reading and studying the word of God. Terry enjoyed fishing, cooking and eating, and he played basketball for Western High School.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, David Tutt, Joe Billy Tutt, Melvin Tutt, and Frank Riley; a sister-in-law, Diane Tutt; and a stepdaughter, Rebecca Kelly.
Terry is survived by his wife, Cindy Quiggins Tutt; three sons, Torian, Davalius, and Tyrone Tutt; a daughter, Tia Tutt; stepdaughters, Vivian Nicholas, Deborah Barrett, Dinah Barrett, Norma Barrett, and Baby Barrett; brothers, Tony Tutt and Jo Jo Riley; sisters, Debbie Tutt, and Ceclia Sherman; many grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Rev. Terry Tutt will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with his special grandson, who was raised as a son, Mike Kelly, and also Bishop Robert Randolph officiating. Burial to follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
