David Allen Smith, 70 of Beaver Dam, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 surrounded by his loving family under the care of University of Louisville Jewish Hospital. He was born on April 18, 1953 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Fred and Virginia Smith. David retired from Peabody Coal Company and he was a member of the UMWA.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, two children, Shannon Olivia (Joshua) Ross of Beaver Dam and Timothy David Smith of Olaton; his partner, Nancy Garner Smith of Beaver Dam and two brothers, Donald (Barbara) Smith of Valparaiso, Indiana and Dwayne (Sue) Smith of Cromwell. David was blessed with four grandchildren, Skyla Grace Ross, Abram Wyatt Ross, Ava Lynn Smith and Athena Marie Ford.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 23, 2023 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Gary Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Green River Baptist Church Cemetery in Cromwell. Friends may visit with David’s family from 10 A.M. until the time of the funeral on Monday.
