Shirley Gordon Price was born in Beech Creek, KY on November 28, 1935 and left this life on October 19, 2023 at his home. He was a music educator for over 50 years with Daviess County Public Schools, a passionate gardener, a volunteer at the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden for several years, a wonderful church pianist and organist for over 35 years, and an avid traveler. He attended Walnut Memorial Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Harvey Price and Letha Johnson Price; a brother, Thurman Price; and a niece, Joann Price Martin.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife of nearly 66 years, Shirley Strader Price; daughter, Liz Price Sturgeon (Brian) of Bowling Green; son, Jon Barclay Price (Dana) of Paducah; grandchildren, Sarah Sturgeon Taylor (Justin) of Franklin, KY, Megan Sturgeon Collier (Ron) of Bowling Green, Jordan Price of Nashville, TN, and Carson Price of Lincoln, NE; great-grandchildren, Dominique, London, Autumn, Bryson and Sullivan Collier of Bowling Green and Ranger Taylor of Franklin, KY; and a nephew, Larry Price (Evvie) of Ennis, KY.
Family and friends will assemble for a graveside service at 2:00pm on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Fitzhugh Cemetery, 436 Peach Orchard Road, Lewisburg, KY 42256 in Logan County.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
