Anita Louise James, 77, of Owensboro died Friday October 6, 2023 at HPC’s The Heartford House. She was born in Owensboro to the late Minnie and LeRoy James, Sr. on September 25, 1946.
She retired from the Owensboro Career Center in 2010.
Anita professed a hope in Christ at an early age and served as a faithful member of the Fourth Street Baptist Church in Owensboro.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Lawrence James; sister Olive James Burroughs; and son Andre Moorman.
Survivors include a brother LeRoy James, Jr.; sons David and Marcus Moorman; daughter Jessica James; daughter-in-law Angela Moorman; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service to honor the life of Ms. James will be held at noon on Friday October 20, 2023 at Fourth Street Baptist Church with Minister Glen Calhoun officiating and Executive Pastor Rhonda Pearson as eulogist. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday October 19 at McFarland Funeral Home, 1001 W 5th St, Owensboro, KY 42301 and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the church.
