Cherilyn Carlisle Kizer, 73, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023 at her home. She was born on September 4, 1950 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Zane & Marilyn Carlisle. She was retired from the Owensboro Vocational Rehabilitation and held a Master’s Degree from Western Kentucky University. Over the years, she donated her time to many causes including volunteering at Connections (formerly Golden Partners), the RiverPark Center and Hospital Gift Shop. Her interests included traveling, gardening, and above all else spending time with her family. She was a member of First Christian Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Virginia “Ginny” Kizer.
Survivors include two sons, Ryan (Kristen) Kizer and Craig Kizer; four grandchildren, Maxwell Kizer, Bryson Kizer, Cooper Kizer, and Logan Kizer; three brothers, Richard (Leslie) Carlisle and Mark (Ann) Carlisle, both of Owensboro and Brian (Anissa) Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory officiated by Brother Farrell Isenberg. Private burial will be in Slaughters Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
The family would live to give a special thanks to her private caregivers and Hospice of Western Kentucky.
