Harold Victor “Vic” Hagman

Harold Victor “Vic” Hagman, 91, of Hawesville, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at his home under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born in Skillman on January 3, 1932 to the late Harold V. and Dorothy Johnson Hagman. Vic was a 3rd generation farmer in Skillman Bottoms and a member at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and VFW Post 5186. Vic was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country during the Korean War.

Vic was a past director and president of Hancock County Farm Bureau, past director and president of Hancock County Soil Conservation District and former member of St. Romuald School Board. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Rose Hagman; siblings, Theresa McCarty, Father Bill Hagman, George Hagman and Francis Paul Hagman.

Vic is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Frey Hagman; sons, Joseph Hagman and wife, Donna, Matthew Hagman and wife Pam, James Hagman and Paul Hagman; 3 granddaughters, Callie Jennings and husband Steven, Sarah Hagman and Jessica Hagman; grandson, Andrew Hagman and wife Hallie; great grandson, Wyatt Jennings; siblings, Mary Schelling, Dan Hagman, Tom Hagman, Lillian Smith, Dorothy Pooser and Charles Hagman along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Terry Devine officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9 am until service time at Noon. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky or Hancock County Coalition for Life.
