
Connie Walker 66, of Island, Kentucky passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Connie Faye Johnson was born May 30, 1957 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Harlan and Patricia Faye Kyle Johnson and was married to Woodrow ‘Woody’ Walker, Jr. Connie was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness and grace.
In her early years, Connie worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Oklahoma, demonstrating a natural aptitude for caring and nurturing. She later transitioned into the role of a homemaker, where her nurturing spirit found ample expression. Connie was a woman of many talents and she used these to create a warm and welcoming home environment for her loved ones.
Connie was a woman who derived immense joy from the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time with her family and friends, cherishing every moment spent in their company. Her bond with her late brother, Stephen Johnson, was particularly special, and their fond memories together remained a source of comfort and joy to her.
As a child, Connie was raised in the Island Baptist Church, where she was currently a member. Her faith guided her through life’s challenges and triumphs, providing her with a sense of peace and purpose.
Connie will be remembered for her spirit, her laughter, and her love which will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and resilience.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Woody Walker; by her father, Harlan Johnson; and by her beloved brother, Stephen Johnson.
Survivors include her mother, Patricia Johnson of Island; a brother, Dillard Jay Johnson (Amy) of Port Orange, Florida; a sister, Pattie Starks (Tim) of Manitou; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 6, 2023 at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with the Rev. Chad Rafferty officiating. Burial will be in the Island Community Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Connie’s family from 11:30 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Friday at Musters in Livermore.
