Shirley “Junie” Hudson 73, of Livermore, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Centertown. Shirley June Basham was born June 17, 1950 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Shirley W. and Wynona Snyder Basham. She was known by her loved ones as ‘Junie,’ a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She married the love of her life, Alfred Leslie “Jay” Hudson, on October 3, 1970. Their marriage was a testament to their unwavering love and commitment, and they remained happily married until Jay’s passing on December 15, 2019. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, love, and laughter.

As a homemaker, Junie dedicated her life to nurturing and providing for her family. Her home was a welcoming sanctuary for all who knew her. She was a master of creating a loving and comfortable environment for her loved ones, which extended beyond her immediate family to include a wide circle of friends.

Junie was a woman of many interests. She had a passion for cross-stitching, a hobby that allowed her creativity to flourish. Her handcrafted pieces were a reflection of her love for detail and her commitment to creating beautiful items for her family and friends. Junie also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as riding her golf cart with her dog around Livermore. These moments of tranquility brought her great joy and allowed her to appreciate the beauty of her surroundings.

She was a woman who cherished her relationships and enjoyed spending time with both her family and friends. Her generous spirit, warm smile, and infectious laughter made her a joy to be around. She had the unique ability to make everyone feel at home, and her presence was a source of comfort and joy.

Junie’s life was centered around her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Kristie Garner (Tim) of Centertown. Junie’s love for her family extended to her granddaughters, Jessica Cannon (Blake) of Olaton, and Jena Deskins of Hartford. She cherished the role of being a grandmother and later, a great-grandmother to Talen Deskins, Reighlynn Cannon, Tenley Deskins, and Tracen Deskins. Her family was her pride and joy, and she took great pleasure in their accomplishments.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Albin officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hope Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Junie’s family from 11:30 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. Saturday at Musters in Livermore.
