Betty Joe Teasley, 84, of Hawesville, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2023. She was born May 14, 1939 in Daviess County the daughter of the late Marion Otto Teasley Sr. and Gladys Atkinson Teasley. Betty was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the National Rifleman Association. She enjoyed her pets, shopping, eating, traveling, outdoor activities, and shooting guns. Betty loved her family and adored her great-grandson, he was her world.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, William Sims Sr.; her angel baby in 1963; and biological father, Joe Goff.
Survivors include a daughter, Lana Church (Brian); son, William “Billy” Earl Sims, Jr.; two grandchildren, Krystyn Hagan (Taylor) and Kiefer Church (Hannah); one great-grandson, Beau Hagan; two brothers, Marion “Corky” Teasley, Jr. (Becky) and Rev. Jimmie Teasley (Shannon); aunts, Mavis Blandford (Terry) and Janet Goff; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at a later date in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
