Orville E. Snyder, 92, of Lewisport, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. Orville was born April 28, 1931 to the late Estil and Sarah Snyder. He was preceded in death by his parents and his four sisters, Mildred Stinnett, Hazel Reynolds, Gladys Roberts, and Faye Basham.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 71 years, Martha Snyder. Orville was a member of the Lewisport Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was retired from WR Grace and Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the hummingbirds, cheering on his Kentucky Wildcats in basketball, listening to St. Louis Cardinal baseball, playing Phase 10, doing word search puzzles, and appreciating nature while sitting on the front porch.
In addition to his wife, Martha, Orville is survived by his five children; Hope Nabity (Mark), Orville Wayne Snyder (Tracy), Bonnie Cooper (Lucky), Mike Snyder (Tina), and Mark Snyder (Mary).
Orville was the much-loved Papaw to his grandchildren: Meagan Waddell (Jason), Bailey Sissom (Joe), Jordan Thompson (Daniel), Kyle Snyder (Tiffany), Amy Janke (Chris), Heather Gorogianis (Jay), Michael Snyder, Jessica DiCentes (David), Christopher Snyder (Kallie), Logan Snyder (Erica), and Landon Snyder (Melissa). He was also Papaw to his twenty-two great grandchildren.
Orville will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather; a good friend to many, a hard worker, and most importantly a good man. He will be so very missed by all those who loved him.
Orville’s life will be celebrated in a private family service followed by burial in Lewisport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky, www.hpcwky.org.
