Linda Jean Payne McGrew, 74, of Hartford, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord September 17, 2023. She was born June 1, 1949, in Deanfield, Kentucky to the late Edwin Earl Payne and Virginia Carrico Payne.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed quilting when she could. Linda was a devoted Christian and lived her life as God intended, by serving and giving to others. She was always straightforward, whether or not you wanted her to be.
Along with her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Payne, and her sister, Elaine Payne.
Linda is survived by her husband of 7 years, James “Jim” McGrew; children, Chris (Jennifer) Payne, Doug (Shannon) Payne, Stephen Payne, Theresa Coultas, Christy McGrew, Dominique Payne, and Richard (Kesha) Payne; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bobby (Della) Payne and John Dale (Annette) Payne.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial to follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
