James Edward "Jim" Paul

James Edward “Jim” Paul, age 66 of Hudson, KY passed away September 11, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Leitchfield, KY on July 26, 1957, son of the late Edith Rae Lucas and Leslie Paul, Jr. Jim was a member of Hudson Community Church, church administrator, as well as a Gideon. He enjoyed the outdoors – horseback riding, bird hunting and riding his motorcycle. He meant so much to so many and was summed up very well by a friend: God picked up a pen and put it to paper about a simple, but extraordinary boy who was planted in little Hudson, Kentucky. Surrounded by a loving family and neighbors that resembled a Mayberry community and filled to the brim with God’s love. A place where Jim grew, stumbled, got back up and ran with a light he was eager to share with the world. One that he DID share with the world. He shared his testimony, which was humble, powerful and as it should be, filled with an appreciation for God. He shared it in his actions – helping neighbors, driving the church bus or being the handyman for the church. He shared it in his praise – lifting his hands high like the branches of a tree reaching to touch a small bit of the warm sunshine above or leading the church choir in amazing grace as the tune carried far beyond the sanctuary. He shared it in his love – the way he would pray for you when you asked, the way he would grieve with you when you grieved and feel joy when you were feeling it. God was the center of his life and he wanted God to be the center of those around him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jacob Scott Paul and his brother Timothy Edwin Paul.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Angela Paul of Hudson, KY
