Mendy Neal 48, Mendy Denise Neal, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Livermore, Kentucky on September 10, 2023. Born on November 11, 1974, in Owensboro, Kentucky, Mendy was a bright light in the lives of those who knew her, bringing joy, warmth, and positivity wherever she went.
A 1992 graduate of McLean County High School, Mendy displayed a lifelong commitment to education and personal growth. She furthered her studies at Brescia College in Owensboro before earning a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Louisville. Mendy’s pursuit of knowledge and her passion for helping others found a perfect union in her chosen career.
Mendy dedicated her professional life to serving others as an adult guardianship worker for the State of Kentucky Department of Aging and Independent Living. Her work was not just a job, but a calling, and her devotion to her clients was evident in all she did. Mendy’s compassionate nature, coupled with her deep understanding of social work, made her an invaluable asset to her community and the lives of those she served.
A woman of many interests, Mendy was a member of the Baptist faith and was known for her love of crafts and archery. She enjoyed spending her free time creating beautiful pieces of art and reading. Moreover, Mendy cherished the moments spent with her family and friends, always looking forward to the next gathering or celebration. She was an avid journal keeper, meticulously recording her daily activities, thoughts, and feelings. Her journals, filled with her unique perspective on life, are treasured keepsakes that will keep her memory alive for years to come.
Mendy was a woman of strength, kindness, and intelligence. Her life was a testament to the power of love, hard work, and dedication. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, her generous spirit, and her unwavering commitment to those she loved and served. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Mendy was the cherished daughter of Cheryl and Roy Stinogle of Livermore; a step-sister to Rocky Stinogle (April) of Island and Angela Stinogle of Central City. In addition to her immediate family, Mendy leaves behind an aunt, an uncle, several cousins, and many friends who will deeply miss her.
A celebration of Mendy’s life will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Friends may visit with Mendy’s family from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Thursday at Musters in Livermore.
