William “Bud” Robinson, 91, of Owensboro passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital surrounded by his children. Bud was born March 7, 1932, in Paradise, Kentucky where he fostered his love of fishing and the outdoors. In his younger years, he played a variety of sports including basketball, softball, and bowling. He spent many years racing on dirt tracks around the area, a hobby he would later pass on to his children. He enjoyed tall tales, a good joke, and Fudge Rounds. Bud retired from Champion Ford in 1995 where he was employed as a body mechanic and was a proud Korean War Vet.
Bud is greeted in heaven by his late wife, Mary, and son, Scott. He is also preceded in death by his mother and father, Ruby and Earl C. Robinson, and several brothers and sisters.
Bud is survived by his children, Doug Robinson (Rebecca) of Madisonville, Mindy Blan (Randall), Randy Robinson (Shelli), and Kandace Sturgeon (Tony), all of Owensboro. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and several brothers and sisters.
The funeral service will be noon Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
