Walter Lee Stinnett, Sr., 87, of Maceo passed away on September 8, 2023. He was born May 10, 1936, in Maceo to the late Roy Lee Stinnett and Florence Bradfield Stinnett. Walter is an Air Force Veteran. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Maceo Baptist Church.
Walter enjoyed racing cars and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed watching Nascar, breaking horses to ride, and loved playing poker, which he always seemed to win. Walter was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed one.
Along with his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Delores” Graham Stinnett, 2 infant sons, and siblings, Jean Barnett, Elza Stinnett, and Barbara Edmonson.
Walter is survived by his children, Lee (Leslie) Stinnett, Sheila (Tim) Fielding, and Sharon (Phillip) Flowers; 6 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; siblings, Ronnie (Jeri) Stinnett, Darlene (John) Adelman, Debbie (Kenneth) Horn, and Brenda (Jerry) Conder; and tons of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial to follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory and again from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
