John Robert Hockenberry, age 78 of Hardinsburg, Ky passed away August 18, 2023 at Twin Rivers Nursing Facility. He was born in Balltown, KY October 14, 1944, son of the late Robert and Arlene Hale Hockenberry. John was a member of the Locust Hill United Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a farmer who enjoyed being outdoors, ginseng and mushroom hunting and fishing. John was a quiet, kind man who always looked for the good in others.
He is survived by 8 brothers: James Richard Hockenberry, Morris Adrian Hockenberry and Harold Ray Hockenberry of Harned, KY; Franklin Hockenberry of Owensboro, KY; David Edward Hockenberry of Irvington, KY; Carl Mitchell Hockenberry of McDaniels, KY; Marvin Lloyd Hockenberry of Locust Hill, KY and Stanley Allen Hockenberry of Indiana.
Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 9:30 – 11 AM. Burial will follow in the McCracken Hill Cemetery.
