Robert David Rawls was born September 3, 1941. He met Jesus, his mother and other family members on July 13, 2023. David grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. He graduated in 1958 from West End High School where he played sports. In 1962, David graduated from Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY. It was while he attended Georgetown that he became a true blue University of Kentucky Wildcat fan. David was a member of the Baptist church. He retired from Owensboro Health Regional Hospital as Director of Patient Financial Services.
David is survived by his wife of 54 years Malinda Caldwell Rawls and daughters, Lynna (Steve) Sloan and Erin (Chris) Royalty. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Mikayla Sloan, Camille (Nathan) Walker, Luke, Reagan, Ben, Jessie, Olivia, Levi, Lily, Bo, and Melody Sloan as well as Gracie, London, Violet, Savannah, Anniston, Cash, and Daisy Royalty.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at noon on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the 24 Church, 1502 Substation Road, Pleasant View, TN. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the church.
