Yvonne Tinsley Allen, 85, of Centertown, Kentucky went to her heavenly home on Monday, July 24, 2023 with her family by her side under the care of Hospice of Ohio County. She was born April 6, 1938 in Hartford, Kentucky to the late Yerkes Tinsley and Irene Westerfield Tinsley. Yvonne was formerly employed by Cowden’s and Executive Inn and was a member of McHenry Baptist Church. She enjoyed family, friends, books, her Bible, quilting, gardening, and loved her pets.
Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-six years, Charles A. Allen and three sisters, Marha Faye Jones, Mona Tinsley, and Charlotte Carol Johnson.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory three children, Sherrilyn (Bill) Haynes of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Charles Allen, Jr of McHenry, and Stephen Allen of Centertown; five grandchildren, Adam (Chinwe) Daugherty of Beaver Dam, Chris Daugherty of Cenetertown, Sarah (Roy) Hedrick of Warner Robbins, Georgia, Dana (Misty) Geary of Beaver Dam, and Sarah (Adam) Smith of Beaver Dam; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Ima Mercedese Ward of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, July 27, 2023 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. Brent Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Alexander Cemetery in Hartford, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Yvonne’s family from 10 AM until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
