Sammy Lee Maxwell, 76, of Owensboro formerly of Greenville passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Chautaugua Health and Rehabilitation in Owensboro. He was born in Owensboro on December 12, 1946 the son of Charles Lee Maxwell and Nola Martha Dukes Maxwell. He was a member of Roland Memorial Baptist Church and had worked at Clardy Grocery as a stock person and gas attendant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Wendol Maxwell and Jerry Maxwell.
He is survived by 2 sisters Patty Jones of Evansville, IN and Kay Thompson of Owensboro, a sister-in-law Billie Sue Maxwell of Owensboro, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY with Rev. Ron Metheny officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.
