
Edna Sosh Duke, 83, of Owensboro, passed away on Sat, January 12, 2019, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky to which the family wishes to express their appreciation for the kindness and care they provided. Edna was born January 22, 1935, in Daviess County to the late Homer Sosh and Rosie Berry Sosh. She was a loving homemaker and housewife.
She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
She enjoyed watching episodes of the Andy Griffith Show.
She also was preceded in death by her husband of 46 ½ years, Leslie L. Duke, Jr.; and three brothers, Jay L. Sosh, Bert Sosh, and Stanley “Moe” Sosh.
She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis (Barry) Hallmark and Brenda (Doug) Hoyt; three grandchildren, Jeremy (Bethany) Mulligan, Kevin (Tritney) Hallmark, and Lesley (Blaise Wilson) Hoyt; six great-grandchildren, Chloe, Asher, Nova, Lennon, Jarrek, Aven, and Grayson; a special niece and her family, Judy Toler, David and Jeff; and special neighbors, David and Donna Parks.
Private services will be held for the immediate family. Burial will follow in Nickel Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from
11 am to 1 pm Wednesday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory.
