Burton Lester Reed, age 93 of Falls of Rough, KY passed away June 29, 2023 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Providence, RI on May 12, 1930. Burton retired from the United States Army after 22 years, where he served during the Korean and Vietnam Era. After serving his country, he was employed with General Electric for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors – camping, boating, fishing and riding his side by side. He was known as the “Road Runner” because of his love of travel and spent many winters in Florida. He kept his family in suspense with his love of telling jokes and stories.
Burton is survived by his longtime companion Patti Workman of Falls of Rough, KY
2 sons – Scott (Dr. Ruth Ann) Reed and Bo (Terry) Reed of Falls of Rough, KY
4 grandchildren – Thomas (Katie) Reed , Josh (Taylor Shelton) Reed, Austin (Ana) Reed and Michael Reed
2 great grandchildren – Guy and Abigail Reed
Funeral services will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 11 AM. Burial with military honors will be in the Reed Family Cemetery in Falls of Rough, KY. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, 3:30 – 6 PM and Thursday from 8:30 – 10:30 AM. All times are central.
