David E. “Too Tall” Elmendorf, 76, of Hawesville, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at his home. He was born on September 30, 1946 in Evansville to the late Clifford and Mary Morris Elmendorf. David was retired from Commonwealth Aluminum after 30 plus years of service, making many friends from trucker to the workers of the company. He loved to hunt, fish, golf, work on vintage cars and be around family and friends. David was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Elmendorf; little brother, Chris Elmendorf; grandson, Donovan Elmendorf.
Dave left behind a loving family and many friends including his two daughters, Mary (Mike) Crowe and Sandra Elmendorf; three grandchildren, Amy Crowe, Michael (Crystal) Crowe, Joshua (Gracie) Crowe and Spencer Elmendorf; great grandchildren Tylana Crowe, Tarissa Crowe, Gracie Crowe, Benjamin Crowe and a future Crowe on the way.

Services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville Chapel with burial following in Mt. Eden Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
