William “Carroll” Grundhoefer, 87, of Owensboro, passed away, Thursday, May 11, 2023 at his residence. He was born June 29, 1935 in Dale, IN to the late, Linus Vitus Grundhoefer and Dorothy (Snyder) Wibbeler. Carroll worked at Grundhoefer Meats in Dale, IN, he later retired from Alcoa where he was a foreman. He enjoyed hiking, bingo, and Jeopardy. Carroll was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend.
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Sarah Sue (Suhrheinrich) Grundhoefer, sons Kimberly John Grundhoefer and Stephen Lee Grundhoefer, and sister, Genell Batesole.
Carroll is survived by his dear companion, Peggy Karen McDuffy; two children, Jeffery Carroll (Sheri) Grundhoefer and Julia Ann (Gene) Young; one brother, Larry (Nancy) Wibbeler. He was known as Papa to his five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30AM, Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends may visit with the family from 10AM until time of service.
