Betty Sue Shrewsberry, age 88 of McQuady, KY passed away May 3, 2023 at her residence. She was born in McQuady on February 1, 1935, daughter of the late Orville Taul and Anna Elizabeth Squires Dean. Betty was a member of Corinth Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and choir member. She loved her church family and the many activities they offered. She was a homemaker and farmers wife, a job that covered a lot of territory and one that she truly loved and enjoyed. In her spare time, she spent as many hours as possible sewing, working in her flower garden and reading Christian books. Her family was her world and she looked forward to gatherings with them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Shrewsberry; grandson Trenton Paul Shrewsberry, great grandson Carson Scott Sebastian and sister Margie Millay.
Betty is survived by 4 children: Kenny Shrewsberry, Allen (Jennifer) Shrewsberry, Mark (Sandra) Shrewsberry and Karen Shrewsberry of McQuady, KY
9 grandchildren: Derek, Cory, Kobe, Aaron, Leslie, Garrett and Justin Shrewsberry, Sarah (Stone) Williams, Lauren (Darren) Sebastian
7 great grandchildren: Breanna and Blake Shrewsberry, Evelyn and August Williams, Bowen, Annalise and Everett Sebastian
1 brother: Danny (Lanie) Taul of Owensboro, KY
1 sister: Peggy (Charlie) Monarch of Hardinsburg, KY
several nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be held at Corinth Baptist Church on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 1 PM with burial in the McQuady Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, 4:30 – 8 PM and Saturday after 8:30 AM.
