Jane Nave, 94 , of Owensboro passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with family by her side. Ms. Nave was born February 14, 1924 in Owensboro the daughter of the late Franklin D. and Nyram Hickerson Nave. Jane attended Southwestern Baptist Seminary and was a devoted lifetime member of Third Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She was a Design Draftsman at Texas Gas retiring in 1986 after 40 years. Jane was a gifted artist who produced many beautiful watercolors and paintings and her design and decorating skills were often called upon at church. She enjoyed gardening and her immaculate yard was always a showplace. As a resident of Fern Terra, Jane was known for her beautiful flower garden and she was never to be seen without her special canine companion, Mimi, on her lap.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Nave also was preceded in death by her brother, Robert F. Nave in 2002 and his wife, Ruth A. Nave in 2006 of Adrian, Michigan.
Those left to cherish her memory include her nieces, Charlotte Shoup and husband Richard of St. John’s Michigan and Judith Doan and husband Robert of Adrian, Michigan; nephew, Gary Nave and wife Joyce of Seven Hills, Ohio; her special companion, Mimi; numerous great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Jane Nave will be noon Saturday, December 29 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ron Williams and her nephew Rev. Gary Nave officiating. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 till 7:00 pm and Saturday after 10:00 am till time of service.
