Kenneth Eugene Gentry, age 77 of Garfield, KY passed away February 9, 2023 near his home. He was born in Jefferson County on May 14, 1945, son of the late Ercel Eugene and Geneva Mae Owen Gentry. Kenneth was a retired teacher, having taught for 27 1/2 years. He began his career at Mt. Washington High School, then moved to Bullitt Central High School where he spent the majority of his career ending with Riverview Opportunity Center. He was a member of Centerview Community Church. He had many interests that include turkey, deer and squirrel hunting; farming, reading and attending church services. He looked forward to visits from his family and enjoyed the company of Sage and Sarge, his German Shepherds .
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Donna Ray Gentry on 10-8-2022, his brothers Danny Ray Gentry in 2021 and Jerry Wayne Gentry in 1951.
Kenneth is survived by his son Kenneth “Troy” Gentry (Amanda) of Mount Washington, KY
daughters: Tracie Lynn Glasscock (Tony) of Garfield, KY and Tricia Dawn Gentry of Radcliff, KY
4 grandchildren: Kari Lynn and Savannah Dawn Glasscock; Kenneth “Allen” and Michael David Gentry
sister-in-law: Linda Gentry of Mount Washington, KY
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 11 AM with burial in the Custer Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, 4-7 PM and Monday after 8:30 AM. All times are central.
