William B. “Billy” Smiley, age 76 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away December 3, 2022 at Norton Audubon Hospital. He was born in Fisher Hill, KY on January 8, 1946, son of the late Henry and Dissie Basham Smiley. Billy was a member and deacon at New Bethel Baptist Church. He was a retired contractor who enjoyed woodworking, farming, camping and hunting. He loved his family and enjoyed visits with them. His grandchildren always looked forward to the wonderful stories he had to share with them.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Margaret, Helen, Milford, Gene and Henry, Jr.
Billy is survived by Joan, his wife of 57 years.

3 sisters – Lucy (Don) Strickland of Mississippi; Nancy Hamilton of Decatur, IL and Shirley Bennett of Hardinsburg, KY

Funeral services will be held at New Bethel Baptist Church on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 1 PM with burial in the Ivy Hill Cemetery under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 AM at the church on Thursday.
