John Carl (Hoppie) King, 75, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky went to his heavenly home on November 6, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born October 22, 1947 in Pleasant Ridge, Kentucky to the late Noble Nave and Helen Irene Thomasson King. John attended Centertown Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing cards, his horse racing game, reading and watching westerns. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp.
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, April King; two brothers, Darrell King and Richard King and one sister, Nancy Forney.
Survivors include, his girlfriend, Carol Karnes of Beaver Dam; daughter, Carrie Ann King of Griffin, Indiana; brother at heart, Mark (Lois) Wortham of Centertown; two sisters, Laural May and Dorothy Berbesque.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. Scott Fleener officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Utica, Kentucky. Friends may visit with John’s family from 9 AM until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
