Raymond Gerhard Kappasser, age 87 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away November 1, 2022 at Veterans Administration Hospital. He was born in Louisville, KY on October 25, 1935, son of the late Henry Gerhard and Nellie Irene Broyles Kappesser. Raymond was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and a retired butcher. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and yard sales. Raymond was very family oriented and looked forward to spending time with his children, grandchildren and sisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara and sons Vernon Lewis and Raymond Kappesser, Jr.
Raymond is survived by his children: Timmy (Amy) Kappesser, Danny (Tina) Kappesser and Debbie (Johnny) Paine of Louisville, KY; Billy (Joyce) Fannin of Owensboro, KY; JoAnn (Eddie) Gernert of Hardinsburg, KY, Jenny (Jeremy) Yoter of Tell City, IN and Rita (Tom) Dowell of Sample, KY.

Funeral services will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 12 PM. Burial with military honors will be in the Hillcrest Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, 4-8 PM and Friday, 9 – 11:30 AM.
