
Dewey “Jud” Alvey, 91, of Tell City, Indiana, formerly of Cromwell, Kentucky, entered into his rest on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. He was born August 25, 1931 in Ohio County, Kentucky to the late Dewey Alvey and Ruby Remale Alvey. Mr. Alvey was a retired carpenter and was a member of Chestnut Grove Church of Jesus Christ.
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Delois Emma Jean Blacklock Alvey; second wife, Mary Coots Phelps Alvey; son, Darrell Wayne Alvey; son-in-law, Eddie Kellems; stepdaughter, Rhonda Phelps; brother, Ed Alvey; infant sister, Barbara Ruth Alvey and sisters, Ola Mae Smith and Brenda Tucker.
Survivors include, four daughters, Lillian Ruth (Harold) Nix of Cannelton, Carolyn Jean Kellems of Tell City, Belinda D Jackson (Scott) Lambert of Lewisport and Becky Darlene (Allen) Palmer of Paducah; daughter-in-law, Vaneece Alvey; stepchildren, Danny Phelps of Hartford and Shenna (Mike) Romans of Morgantown; grandchildren, Linda Fox, Lisa (Harvey) Hendricks, Debbie K (Eric) Gaynor, Eddie Gene (Michelle) Kellems, Robert Lee Kellems, John Ellis (Jennifer) Kellems, Christopher (Adrian) Jackson, Natalie Ann Edwards, Eric (Ashley) Alvey and Taylor Alvey; step grandson, James Levi (Betsy) Phelps; twenty-four great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; brother, Paul (Margaret) Alvey of Shepherdsville; sister, Martha Jackson of Hartford and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday, October 24, 2022 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Harold Nix officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Church of God Cemetery. Friends may visit with Mr. Alvey’s family from 10 AM until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
