Mary Rita Neff

December 20, 1942 - October 3, 2022

Mary Rita Neff, age 79, of Hardinsburg, KY died on October 3, 2022 at Norton Audubon Hospital. She was born in Rhodelia, KY on December 20, 1942 to the late John O’Bryan and Anna Rita Manning O’Bryan. Mary Rita was retired from Civil Service at Fort Knox and a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church. She was a woman of great faith who believed in the power of prayer and the healing of the Lord. Family was very important and she instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of family time and love for each other. She spent many hours working on her quilts which she graciously bestowed on her family. Mary Rita enjoyed cooking and felt the need to feed everyone. Biscuit making with the little ones were special times. She was also a fan of Elvis and Bluegrass Music.

Mary Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jack Neff; her grandson, Landon Kasey; siblings – JoAnn Manning, Helen Greenwell, Marilyn Preher and Junius O’Bryan.

She is survived by her daughters: Jackie Taul (Daniel) of Hardinsburg, KY

Johnna Borgmeier (Ron) of Lanesville, KY

Leslie Kasey (Kevin) of Hardinsburg, KY

Dana Brumfield (Barry) of Medina, OH

Brothers: John S. O’Bryan (Wilma) of Brandenburg, KY and Mike O’Bryan (Diana) of Payneville, KY,

Sisters: Frances Clark (Mike) , Jean Moore, Doris June Werner (Buddy), Rebecca Highbaugh of Louisville, KY; Ellen Brothers (Dennis) of Cox’s Creek, KY, Andrea Esarey (Gary Bradley) of Brandenburg, KY, Betty Polen (Brad) of Bowling Green, KY

Visitation will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church on Friday from 5-8 PM and Saturday from 9-11 AM

Rosary services at 7:30 PM

Funeral services will be at St. Romuald Catholic Church on Saturday at 11 AM

Burial in St. Romuald Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Live Like Landon Foundation or St. Romuald Cemetery
