Katheryn Jean Enot

September 24, 1935 - October 31, 2018

Katheryn Jean Enot, 83, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Wellington Parc in Owensboro. She was born on September 24, 1935 in Zeigler, Illinois to the late John Enot, Jr. and Aldona Partock Enot and grew up in Boonville, Indiana. She graduated from Boonville High School and St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Evansville, Indiana. She always spoke fondly of her childhood in Boonville and the kindness shown to her by the nuns at St. Mary’s. Jean was a retired registered nurse and cared for many patients during her career, including those at Daviess County Hospital, Louisville General and those undergoing NIH clinical trials at the University of California’s Brain Tumor Research Center in San Francisco. In retirement, she volunteered at the men’s, women’s and animal shelters in Owensboro. She was of the Catholic faith, was a voracious reader, a proud Democrat, loved her family and her little dogs, had a sassy sense of humor, was a generous and faithful friend, a beloved aunt and always did the best she could. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Williams and a nephew, David Napier.

She is survived by her twin sister, Jeanette Medley (Wathen) of Owensboro; her nieces, Paula Lewis, Donna Barnes, Rhonda Styka, Susan Ramsay and Kathy Napier; a nephew, John Williams; and five great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 in the chapel at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory with Father Sinoj from St. Stephens Cathedral officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville, IN. Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

A heartfelt thank you to her caregiver, Paula Wright at Comfort Keepers and the caring staff at Chandler Memory Care, Signature Healthcare of Bowling Green, Wellington Parc and Hospice of Western Kentucky.
