Walter Thomas Goatley, age 75 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away March 29, 2022 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Cloverport, KY on April 12, 1946, the son of the late Victor Thomas and Norma Lee Burnette Goatley. He was a retired farmer, a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Harvest for Jesus Christ House of Prayer and the Hardinsburg VFW Post. Walter enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the guitar, watching movies and some of his favorite shows were Mash, Gunsmoke, Gilligan’s Island and the Three Stooges.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Roger Goatley, Ernie Goatley, Gary Goatley, Doris Compton, Claudia Maysey and Christine Smith.
Walter is survived by his wife Patsy Goatley of Hardinsburg, KY
2 sons – Tommy Goatley of Irvington, KY and Rev. Steve (Patricia) Goatley of Paducah, KY
2 daughters – Cathy (Joey) Henning of Hardinsburg, KY and Michelle (Charles) Robinson of Constantine, KY
22 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren
1 brother – Billy (Nancy) Goatley of Vine Grove, KY
2 sisters – Ada (Reggie) Currier of New York and Vickie (Frank) Milburn of Hardinsburg, KY
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 3 PM with cremation to follow. Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM on Sunday.
