Orville Eugene “Scooter” Brooks, 69 of Owensboro, passed away, Thursday, February 24, 2022 at his residence. He was born July 8, 1952 in Daviess Co., Kentucky to the late Coleman and Pauline (Faught) Brooks. Scooter was of Baptist Faith, a retired truck driver, and he was public relation director for Brooks Motorsports.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Cathy Brooks, two sons, Christopher (Brittani) Brooks and Patrick Brooks and three special “adopted” daughters., two brothers, John (Patty) Brooks and Scott (Kim) Brooks. Scooter was blessed with 3 grandchildren, Cora Brooks, Daylynd Moore and Tagian Moore. There were also 9 special grandchildren he loved dearly. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00PM, Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory, with Rev. Kurt Hoffman officiating. Friends may visit with the family of Scooter Brooks from 2-6pm, on Tuesday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the final expense fund of Orville E. “Scooter” Brooks. Contributions should be made in care of Cathy Brooks.
