Video: Residents flock to Yellow Creek Park for free tree seedlings

The Daviess County Conservation District gave away thousands of tree seedlings Thursday at Yellow Creek Park as part of its annual Arbor Day celebration. The event began at 8 a.m. and continued until supplies ran out, drawing a steady crowd of residents eager to take home native trees.

The Daviess County Conservation District gave away thousands of tree seedlings Thursday at Yellow Creek Park as part of its annual Arbor Day celebration. The event began at 8 a.m. and continued until supplies ran out, drawing a steady crowd of residents eager to take home native trees.

More than 3,000 seedlings were available, with a limit of 10 per person. Tree varieties included Eastern Redbud, Flowering Dogwood, Cypress, Pecan, Persimmon, Black Cherry, Black Walnut, Yellow-Poplar, White Oak, and White Pine.
