Apollo walked off Owensboro Catholic, while Hancock County beat Ohio County. In other action, Daviess County fell on the road.

Apollo 3, Owensboro Catholic 2

Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Apollo’s Emersyn Bullington scored on a Lily Page single to walk off the Lady Aces 3-2. Tyler Hall and Isabella Felderpausch both drove in runs, while Arianna Ramirez finished 1-3. Mollie Julian threw a complete game, allowing two earned runs over seven innings, while striking out five.

“I thought we competed well,” Apollo head coach Stephen Julain said. “We made most of the routine plays, got a couple of key hits, and Mollie threw well enough to limit them. I thought she got better as the game progressed. Maddi Roberts came through with a hit off the bench to get things going in the seventh and advanced on the throwing error. All district wins are good wins.”

For the Lady Aces, Lily Logsdon went 1-4 with an RBI, while Anna Hamilton went 1-3 with an RBI. Railey Scott allowed two earned runs over six innings, striking out two.

“These types of games are fun to be part of,” Owensboro Catholic head coach Jeremy Phelps said. “Two teams that know each other, the players are friends, play travel ball together, and two teams out of field competing against one another. I believe games like this make both games better.”

Greenwood 5, Daviess County 1

The Lady Panthers gave up three runs in the bottom of the sixth, falling to Greenwood 5-1. Annie Newman drove in Mollie Hancock for their lone run of the game, while Storey Hume and Shelby Bennet had two of the team’s three hits. Hume started in the circle, allowing one earned run over four innings, while Kamryn Timmons pitched the last two innings.

Hancock County 6, Ohio County 3

The Lady Hornets rode a four run third inning to beat Ohio County 6-3. Bella Bryant finished 2-3 with an RBI, while Ryleigh French, Ansley House, Ava Riggs, Audrey Carnes, and Aubree Mosby all drove in runs. Bryant threw a complete game, allowing two earned runs over seven innings, while striking out three.
